‘I Love their music’ - Bob Harris

North Riding is an exciting Americana-folk duo of international award-winning singer-songwriter Hayley McKay and multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and producer David Neil Crabtree. Rooted in the North East of England, the pair blend rich vocal harmonies, cinematic storytelling and Americana influences with the soul and character of Tees Valley, creating a sound that feels both timeless and unmistakably their own.

Their partnership was forged during an unforgettable three-month tour of the southern United States, where they performed more than 40 shows, wrote songs across Texas, Tennessee and South Carolina, and immersed themselves in the landscapes and traditions that have shaped American roots music. Those experiences inspired a collection of songs that bridge Northern England and the American South with honesty, warmth and authenticity.

North Riding have quickly established themselves as one of the UK's most exciting emerging Americana acts. Their music has received national airplay on BBC Radio 2, where legendary broadcaster Bob Harris selected them as his New Horizon Artist, describing them simply: "I love their music." They have also received continued support from BBC Introducing and have performed at major festivals including Hardwick Festival, Mouth of the Tyne Festival, Stockton Calling, Durham Fringe and Lindisfarne Festival.

With new music, major live performances and an ambitious release schedule ahead, North Riding continue to build a reputation as one of the North East's finest musical exports, connecting audiences on both sides of the Atlantic through songs that celebrate place, people and the journeys that shape us.
